Parents only

How this works, in plain English

You send one short referral from your own phone. We email you a private link made just for your child. That link goes on their phone or tablet.

Setup takes about three minutes. Free, forever.

Step by step

  1. 1

Fill in the Get help form on your own phone

Open bem-crisis.app, tap Get help, and choose "I am a parent or guardian". Tell us your child's name and what you are worried about, add your own name and contact details, and tick the consent boxes. Nothing goes on your child's device yet.

  2. 2

Send it — then check your email

Your referral goes straight to our safeguarding inbox, and to the Harmony Harbour UK crisis team where the risk is critical. Your child's private Safe Zone link arrives in your email automatically. Keep it private to your family.

  3. 3

Open the link on your child's phone and tap Download now

Send the link to your child's phone or tablet and open it there. At the top of the Safe Zone is a big blue Download now button — one tap puts it on their home screen as its own icon. On iPhones, it shows two quick taps instead (Share, then Add to Home Screen) because Apple does not allow one-tap downloads.

  4. 4

    What your child sees

Only the Safe Zone: simple questions, one big help button, Call 999, and groups for under-18s. None of the adult pages can be reached. Your child never has to enter any details — everything is already on file from your referral.

  5. 5

    The red danger button

If your child presses it, an emergency report is sent instantly with their live location, your details and your consent already attached — and it keeps updating while the page stays open. They press one button; the system does the rest.

What you are agreeing to

Read this before you set it up

In almost every case, you — the parent or guardian — are told and copied in on every report your child sends.

The one exceptionIf a young person tells us about abuse, violence or danger inside their own home, the copy to the household is held back and the report goes instead to specialist child safeguarding services and, where needed, the police. This is the standard UK safeguarding approach, and by setting the app up you agree to it in advance.

  • Reports are shared only with safeguarding, crisis and specialist child services — never sold, never advertised against.
  • You can ask what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted at any time.
  • Reports are automatically deleted on a schedule based on risk level, between three and twelve months.
  • The app is free. There are no charges, ever.

Full detail is on the privacy and your information page.

See what your child will see (view only — nothing can be sent)

Reports are read by people, not robots. If there is no answer and someone is in danger, keep calling 999 — that is always the fastest route to help.
